SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lightbits®the first software-defined NVMe® data platform for any cloud, today announced its TCO calculation and configuration tools. Developed in collaboration with Intel, these freely available online tools offer cloud service providers (CSPs), financial services, and telecommunications organizations an intuitive way to determine the value of the Lightbits cloud data platform.
Designed for enterprise IT organizations and CSPs supporting modern applications facing the same business issues: how to maximize profitability by extracting full value from their data while delivering secure, fast, highly available and resilient services. Lightbits Cloud Data Platform is the only software-defined disaggregated storage solution available today that uniquely combines NVMe/TCP, with built-in Intelligent Flash Management™ and rich data services that can boost flash endurance up to 20x. When combined with 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with built-in AI accelerators, Intel Optane persistent memory (PMem), and 100Gb Intel Ethernet 800 series network adapters, the solution delivers the ultimate in performance, resiliency and scalability for customers while reducing costs.
The TCO Calculator provides price and performance comparisons of the Lightbits cloud data platform against other direct-attached, HCI, and software-defined storage solutions. It encompasses the complete TCO environment of software, hardware, support, power, cooling, space and administration time. The tool highlights the total cost of ownership savings that can be achieved by using Lightbits software with Intel hardware. Users can download the results.
The Configurator, on the other hand, is a user-friendly tool that allows technical specialists to better determine how to optimize the configuration of a Lightbits Cloud Data Platform. The configurator supports multiple OEM vendors including Dell, Intel, Fujitsu, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro.
It also calculates the full bill of materials required for installation. The configurator highlights the raw, usable, and effective performance and capacities of the SSDs and nodes in the environment. Users can download the results or receive them by email as a PDF document.
